Terms and Conditions
By continuing with the booking, you confirm acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of handy person services by PTP ("we", "us", "our") to the customer ("you", "your"). By proceeding with a booking, you confirm your acceptance of these terms.
1. Scope of Work
• All services will be carried out as agreed in writing or verbally prior to commencement.
• Any additional work requested during the project may be subject to a revised quotation.
2. Waste Disposal
• Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the responsibility for disposal of waste materials lies solely with the customer.
• We do not remove or transport waste unless explicitly included in the service agreement.
3. Asbestos Awareness and Health and Safety
• Our team has undertaken asbestos awareness training in accordance with UK health and safety regulations.
• You must inform us of any known or suspected asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) within the property prior to commencement of work.
• If we encounter materials that may contain asbestos and there is uncertainty:
• All work will cease immediately.
• It is your responsibility to arrange for a qualified asbestos survey.
• Work will only resume once written confirmation is provided that the area is free of asbestos or safe to proceed.
•We reserve the right to refuse or suspend work if conditions are deemed unsafe or non-compliant with UK health and safety standards.
4. Payment Terms
• Payment is due upon day of completion unless agreed otherwise in writing.
• We accept cash and card payments, via card machine; card transactions may be processed via a secure third-party provider.
• Where payment is made via invoice, the applicable payment terms will be stated on the invoice and are typically due within 7 calendar days from the date of issue, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• Late payments may incur interest and fees under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
• Non-payment may result in debt recovery action, including legal proceedings and associated costs.
5. Liability
• We are insured for public liability and will take reasonable care during all works.
• We are not liable for pre-existing faults, structural issues, or damage caused by third parties.
• We shall not be held responsible for delays or damages arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including adverse weather, supplier delays, or access restrictions.
• Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
6. Customer Responsibilities
• The customer is responsible for ensuring safe, unobstructed access to the work area for the duration of the project.
• Where applicable, the customer must take reasonable steps to protect surrounding areas, fixtures, and furnishings from dust, debris, or incidental contact.
• We shall not be liable for damage resulting from inadequate access, failure to protect or inform us of vulnerable areas, or interference by third parties.
7. Materials Deposit
• PTP reserves the right to request a deposit towards the cost of materials prior to commencing work.
• The requirement and amount of any deposit will be determined at our discretion and communicated in writing.
• Deposits may be used to secure goods and cover supplier costs. In the event of cancellation, part of the deposit may be retained in accordance with Clause 8.
8. Cancellations and Rescheduling
• Exterior works may be rescheduled at short notice due to adverse weather or safety concerns.
• Customers must provide at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel a booking.
• Where a cancellation occurs and a deposit has been paid for materials, a proportion may be retained to cover supplier restocking fees, non-refundable charges, or other direct costs incurred.
• Cancellations must be made in writing. Refunds, where applicable, will be processed within 14 days, minus any deductions.
• We reserve the right to exercise discretion in exceptional circumstances.
9. Booking Confirmation
• Acceptance of any quotation issued by us shall constitute agreement to these Terms and Conditions in full, which shall form part of the binding contract between the parties.
• These terms may be updated periodically. The latest version will be made available upon request.
